Management Team

Legends Row is a citizen-driven, volunteer initiative operated by a group of like-minded community activists and leaders who take great pride in our city’s accomplishments. Through a merger in 2020 with Heritage Mississauga, the Walk of Fame operates independent from the City of Mississauga under a License Agreement with the city that provides the space on Celebration Square to house Legends Row, and an annual operating grant to advance and maintain the project. We work closely with the Culture Division of the City to operate this popular outdoor museum.

IN MEMORIAM

Douglas Fowles (1941-2022)
Treasurer

The Legends Row team were saddened with the sudden death of our founding member of Legends Row, Douglas Fowles. Doug was an invaluable contributor to this project from the beginning and acted as Treasurer while also assisting wherever he could to launch our Walk of Fame. Mr. Fowles was President and CEO of Ochiltree Management Inc., a real estate consulting and development company. He previously held the position of President and CEO of Mascan Corporation, developer of the Mississauga City Core and builder of the Square One Shopping Centre. An active community volunteer Doug was a former director of the Mississauga Living Arts Centre and the Mississauga Board of Trade. He served on the Community Living Mississauga Dinner Committee, was a member of the Trillium Health Centre, Building and Facilities Committee and a long serving member of both the Mayor’s Gala committee and the Mayor’s Annual Golf Tournament. Doug also acted as Treasurer and Assistant Secretary of the Hazel McCallion Foundation for the Arts, Culture & Heritage. In 2013, Mr. Fowles was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award from The Rotary Club for his community service and in 2018 he was named Mississauga Citizen of the Year.
